Yesterday evening, I was waiting bored-to-death in a Etisalat (the local crappy communication provider) shop waiting for this surprisingly nice technician to fix a problem we had with Maryam’s cell line.
A noisy family (Dad, the weird teenage boy, and a little cute girl) were there too.
Out of all that frustration I was dealing with, I realized that the little girl (barely 10) took a demo iPhone (from his brother) and started playing with it. It was her first time for sure from the way she was discovering it eyes wide open.
Her brother was already playing Space Monkey something when she grabbed it eagerly.
To my surprise she automatically started moving the iPhone around and rotating it to control the game. She was mastering the accelerometer!
I found myself smiling, watching them enjoying the technology and harnessing its features without any prior knowledge. They were naturals.
They left the shop excited with a new iPhone 3G and I was back to my boredom.
