tryingtofollow: Pretty shocking ads. The website they reference isn’t up (nor available on google cache or wayback), but you probably can get the basic premise from the copy. Video games are harmful. Agree or Disagree? I tend to agree, though I don’t think everyone who plays them suddenly will go on murder rampages, I think they do have a detrimental effect (as someone who used to play them growing up and doesn’t anymore). Murder, violence, bad competition are what most of the games are about. Unfortunately these are what make them attractive. Would majority pay for SimCity or Halo3? I do believe that practicing violence in cyber world, will have at least side effects like increased violence (if not more) in the society. You can’t imagine something (being a savage in the cyber world) for hours day and day, without exposing yourself to becoming it. What kind of need I want to feed slaughtering people (even monsters) with a chainsaw?!
